General Session, Tuesday Evening – Bob Waliszewski

Bob Waliszewski, director of Focus on the Family’s Plugged In department, concluded the first day of the Filmmakers Guild with strong motivation for all of those attending. Film can be used to impact thousands of people.Some statistics that he shared included:

• Through Fireproof, 119,000  marriages saved.
• Through Facing the Giants, over 5,000 received Christ.
• Over 40,000 police officers in Ecuador saw Courageous.

A Lifeway/NRB statistic is that 35% of folks who watched a Christian film last year were “unchurched.” What a tremendous purpose Christians have to work hard to make good quality films. Waliszewski reminded attendees that there are 3 types of Christian films:

1. Evangelistic films
2. Films to help  the believers to grow spiritually
3. Seed-planting films

With such a great  potential we have to impact so many we should move forward doing all to the glory of God!
